The Espace Mittelland is a large region in Switzerland . According to the division of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), it includes the cantons of Bern , Friborg , Solothurn , Neuchâtel and Jura , i.e. only part of the geographical central plateau and areas that are not geographically part of the central plateau, such as the Bernese Oberland and the entire canton of Jura .
The organization of the same name was dissolved at the end of 2009. The association consisted of the cantons of Bern, Friborg, Solothurn, Neuchâtel, Jura, Vaud and Valais . According to its own statements, the organization did not achieve the goals it had set itself. In addition, the financing could not be more broadly based.
