The capital region of Switzerland ( French: Région capitale suisse ) is a regional organization in Switzerland and comprises the cantons of Bern , Friborg , Neuchâtel , Solothurn and Valais as well as around 20 municipalities and regional organizations.
The aim of the “Capital Region Switzerland” association founded on December 2, 2010 is to network and coordinate its members as partners. In addition, the association wants to secure and expand the economic potential of the region and its position as the most important location for large public service companies and public broadcasters.
The spatial concept of Switzerland, the NCR is equivalent positioned as the Metropolitan regions and acts as a bridge between the French-speaking Switzerland (French-speaking Switzerland) and the German-speaking Switzerland .
