Espariz is a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Tábua , in the Coimbra district . On June 30, 2011 the community had 631 inhabitants in an area of 9.7 km².
history
In the surveys of King D. Afonso III. in the 13th century Espariz was run as a village in Coja County and belonged to the Bishop of Coimbra. In the 16th century it became an independent parish and received a church. Today it is a listed building.
The municipality of Espariz was merged with the municipality of Sinde to form the União de Freguesias des Espariz e Sinde on September 29, 2013 as part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal . Espariz became the official seat, while the administration of the municipality remains divided between the two main towns for the time being.
