Essie Washington
Essie Washington (born Kelley; * 12. January 1957 ) is a former American middle distance runner , referring to the 800-meter distance had specialized and because of their sprint strength in the 400-meter relay by 4 was used .
At the Pan American Games in San Juan in 1979 , she won over 800 m and with the US 4-by-400-meter relay.
In 1987 she was fourth over 800 m at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis and reached the semi- finals at the World Athletics Championships in Rome .
In 1979 and 1987 she was US champion over 800 m.
