The Estádio dos Barreiros or Estádio do Marítimo is a football stadium in the Portuguese city ​​of Funchal on Madeira . The Portuguese first division team Marítimo Funchal plays its home games in the stadium . Although the Estádio dos Barreiros, like most stadiums, originally had a higher capacity, it only had 9,177 spectators before the renovation. It is nicknamed O Caldeirão ( German  Der Kessel ).

Since July 20, 2009, the stadium has been extensively modernized and transformed into a pure football stadium without an athletics facility. The new stadium with all-round covered grandstands is to offer space for 10,000 spectators. The work is expected to be completed in 2016.
