The Estádio Cidade de Barcelos is a football stadium in the Portuguese city of Barcelos , Braga district in the Norte region .
history
The venue of the Gil Vicente FC football club was inaugurated on May 30, 2004. The first game took place between Gil Vicente and the team from Nacional Montevideo from Uruguay (1: 2). The arena consists of four individually standing, roofed grandstands close to the playing field and holds 12,504 spectators. There are also ten places for the disabled and 102 workstations for journalists. There are around 520 parking spaces for cars and 13 for buses around the venue.

The stadium was one of six venues for the 2006 European Under-21 Football Championship .
