Estefania Miranda (* 1975 in Chile ) is a Chilean choreographer and curator .

Life

At the age of 15 she received a dance scholarship from the European Council and went to Edinburgh / Scotland. Then she started studying dance at the University of the Arts in Tilburg / Netherlands and made guest appearances as a dancer in Ireland and Belgium. Already in her third year of study she received an engagement as an ensemble member of the Ismael Ivo Company at the German National Theater Weimar . She stayed here until 2000 and graduated with a diploma.

She has been working together for many years with the renowned choreographer, founder of the largest European dance festival Impuls Tanz in Vienna, and director of the Biennale di Venezia / Dance, Ismael Ivo. In Ivo's choreographies, Estefania Miranda was seen as a soloist in numerous leading roles. Under his leadership the company worked with other important artists such as B. Gerald Thomas / New York, Marcio Aurelio / São Paulo. In 2012 she was appointed director of dance at the Konzert Theater Bern for the 2013/2014 season.
