Esther Betz

Esther Betz (born February 17, 1924 in Neufechingen near Saarbrücken ) is a German publisher.

Life

Esther Betz is the older of the three daughters, Judith Stilz, Esther Betz and Marlies pigeons Kropp, Anna and Anton Betz , the co-founder of the in Dusseldorf appearing Rheinische Post . She studied newspaper studies , art history and literary studies in Munich and received her doctorate there in 1953. Since 1956 she has been co-editor of the Rheinische Post.

Ester Betz has chaired the non-profit Anton Betz Foundation of the Rheinische Post for the promotion of science and research since 1985. The foundation has had a special relationship with the University of Düsseldorf since it was established .

Honors

In 1995, Esther Betz received the Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany from the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Science Anke Brunn for her commitment .

In 1997 she was made an honorary senator of the University of Düsseldorf. The university also recognized its commitment to the Anton Betz Foundation by naming lecture hall 3H in the philosophy faculty after Esther Betz in 2008.
