Ettore Panizza
Ettore Panizza (also Héctor Panizza) (born August 12, 1875 in Buenos Aires , † November 27, 1967 in Milan ) was an Argentine composer , conductor and music teacher of Italian descent.
Life
Héctor Panizza studied at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. As a composer he is best known for his four operas. His best-known work is the opera Aurora (1908), known for the “Cancion A La Bandera”, which is used in Argentina as a song to salute the national flag. As a conductor, he has mainly directed works of the opera genre.
In 1952 he published his autobiography Medio Siglo de Vida Musical .
