Eugenio Driutti

Eugenio Driutti (born January 14, 1949 in Tarcento , Province of Udine ) is an Italian medalist .

Career

Italian 1 cent coin (since 2002)

After finishing vocational school, Eugenio Driutti worked in an artist's workshop where he learned engraving and other techniques. In 1971 he received a scholarship that enabled him to study at the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia - Giuseppe Romagnoli of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato . In the following years he created a variety of medals for organizations and individuals. Since 1981 he has been employed as an engraver at the Istituto Poligrafico, which is also the Italian state mint . There he designed numerous coins of the Italian lira , often with motifs from the field of architecture . Driutti designed the 1 cent Italian euro coin with the facade of the Castel del Monte . Driutti lives and works in Rome .

  • 500 lire commemorative silver coin for the 2100th anniversary of the Milvian Bridge (1991);
  • 500 lira commemorative silver coin commemorating the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America (1992);
  • 500 lira commemorative silver coin commemorating the 650th anniversary of the University of Pisa (1993);
  • 50,000 Lire and 100,000 Lire commemorative gold coins for the 100th anniversary of the Banca d'Italia (1993);
  • 50,000 lire commemorative gold coin for the 900th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone for Modena Cathedral (1993);
  • 5000 lire commemorative silver coin commemorating the 600th birthday of Antonio Pisanello (1995);
  • 200 lire commemorative brass coin for the centenary of the Guardia di Finanza (1996);
  • Face of the Italian euro coin at 1 cent (since 2002).
