Ali Frazier Award
The Ali Frazier Award (from 2002 to 2009 Harry Markson Award ) is a global award given by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) since 2002 for the fight of the year in professional boxing , regardless of weight class .
The award was initially named after the US publicist and boxing promoter Harry Markson . It wasn't until 2009 that the award was renamed the Ali Frazier Award in honor of Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier and their epic battle trilogy ( Fight of the Century , Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier II , Thrilla in Manila ) .
