The Mohegan Sun Arena at Uncasville is a multi-purpose arena in Uncasville , Connecticut . The event building with a capacity of 10,000 visitors is used as a venue for various concerts and exhibitions in addition to sporting events. Eric Clapton performed here on October 6th and 7th, 2006 as part of his Doyle & Derek World Tour in the arena.
History and use
The arena was built in the early 2000s on an area of 2,800 square meters and opened in October 2001. The building was designed, constructed and built by the Perini Building Company. The hall is owned and operated by Mohegan Sun. The Mohegan Sun Arena at Uncasville is mainly used for basketball and lacrosse sporting events.
The hall was the home of the Mohegan Wolves arena football team from 2002 to 2003 . Then the team moved to Manchester , New Hampshire . In 2003, the women's basketball has been the franchise of the Orlando Miracle to Connecticut laid. Since then, the Connecticut Sun from the WNBA has been based in the Mohegan Sun Arena at Uncasville. Since 2015 the lacrosse team of the New England Black Wolves ( NLL ) resides in the hall.
