Eulenspiegel Prize
The Eulenspiegel Prize of the city of Schöppenstedt was a literary prize endowed with 1500 euros , which was awarded every two years from 1988 to 2008.
The Eulenspiegel Prize honored a picture book in German that could also be a translation from a foreign language . Particularly young German authors were honored whose work stood out in terms of content and design from the overall production of German-language publishers in the previous two years. The works had to be submitted by a publisher.
The co-founder of the award was Bianka Minte-König , who was also the head of a commission that submitted a pre-selection of book titles to the jury appointed by the City Council of Schöppenstedt . The chairman of the nine-member jury was Karl-Heinz Mühe , mayor of the city and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.
Due to the poor financial situation of the city, the awarding of the award was suspended until further notice in 2009.
