Mario Giordano
Mario Giordano (born May 30, 1963 in Munich ) is a German writer .
Life
Giordano studied psychology and philosophy at the University of Düsseldorf . He writes novels , short stories , books for children and young people, screenplays and radio plays .
His novel Black Box (1999), which is based on a true story ( Stanford Prison Experiment ), was filmed under the title The Experiment under the direction of Oliver Hirschbiegel . The film received the script award at the Bavarian Film Prize .
He gives screenwriting seminars at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and the Stuttgart Animated Film Festival (ITFS). Giordano has worked as a mentor for TV series at the Academy for Children's Media since 2007. Since October 2014 he has been Head of Content Development for the Cologne media company Bastei Lübbe AG.
Giordano is a member of the PEN Center Germany and lives in Cologne .
Art books for children
In a series of art books for children, Giordano tries to introduce children to art through pictures and texts. So he devotes himself z. B. in the book The Lion in the Atelier depictions of animals in the history of art. In the book Angels and Monsters , paintings by famous painters from Raphael to Paul Klee are shown and discussed. Other art books deal with the life story and works of individual famous painters such as Pablo Picasso ( Pablo's story ), Paul Klee ( The man with the twittering machine ), Leonardo Da Vinci ( Leonardo's cat ) and Emil Nolde ( Emil Nolde for children ). In 2001 Giordano received the LUCHS of the month for November for the Klee book The Man with the Twitter Machine . Emil Nolde for children received the lynx of the month June in 2006 and was selected for the best 7 list in August 2006 .
