The Euro Offroad Series (EOS) is a racing series for radio-controlled model cars in Europe. The series is organized by Uwe Rheinard and Scotty Ernst. It is a sister series of the Euro Touring Series (ETS) and the Euro Nitro Series (ENS).

Since 2008, the ETS has been a racing series for 1:10 scale models on smooth tracks (carpet, asphalt). In 2011 a pilot race for the Euro Offroad Series, which transferred the ETS concept to the offroad sector, was held in Tomelilla . From 2012, the series consisting of three races was organized with a championship classification for the first time. In the second 2012/13 season, four races were held and the races were relocated to winter.

Although it is an off-road series, the races are only held indoors and on carpet. Bumps and terrain are implemented using artificial jumps and obstacles.

technology

The races will only be held with 1:10 electric models. Buggies with rear or all-wheel drive (4WD and 2WD) are used. With the start of the 2018/19 season, the 2WD and 4WD classes were expanded to include a sub-class for stock engines.

At the beginning of the series there were also classes for short course trucks with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive (4WD SC and 2WD SC). From the 2015/16 season these were finally replaced by two classes, 2WD Stadium Truck Modified and Stock. Rear-wheel drive truggies are allowed to start in these. New for the season were the 2WD Stock and 4WD Stock classes, which are only open to hobby riders with lower engine power. In order to ensure equal opportunities, a manufacturer's standard tires are also set by regulations.

The regulations are very open, so that a large number of vehicles are eligible to start. With this freedom, many manufacturers also use the EOS races to test out new developments in racing.

Season overview

Four races are currently held each season. The races take place in appropriately suitable large sports halls or during model making fairs. Most of them are temporary racetracks.
