European region Danube-Vltava
A trinational union of Czech , German and Austrian regions is described as the European Region Danube-Moldau (EDM) . The area covers an area of around 60,000 km 2 with around 6 million people.
European region Danube-Vltava
The economic , social and societal development in Bavaria , the Czech Republic and Austria has not been determined by boundary lines for almost 25 years . Since then, the border regions have grown closer and closer together and are working on joint projects , for example in the areas of economy , tourism , culture , social affairs or education . For the municipalities and subregions involved, it is beneficial to involve the neighbors, even if they are at home in another country. Over the years, networks have been built across borders and the attractiveness of the region has increased. The large number of projects jointly implemented in recent years testifies to the pronounced interest in cooperation with neighboring regions. Within the framework of a European region, joint plans and projects can be processed even more efficiently and more closely coordinated. Seven regions in the border triangle of the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria therefore founded the Danube-Moldau European Region on June 30, 2012.
