Eva Alexandra Countess Kendeffy

Eva Alexandra Countess Kendeffy (born in 1948 as Eva Blümm) is a German diplomat . She was most recently consul general in Miami and retired in 2013.

Life

After graduating from high school , Countess Kendeffy studied law , English and Romance languages at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , the University of Hamburg , the Free University of Berlin and the University of Geneva .

After completing her studies, she joined the Foreign Service in 1982 and passed the career test for the higher service from 1984 to 1986 as a consultant in the Political Department of the Foreign Office and subsequently as Second Secretary for Press and Culture at the Embassy in Costa Rica . After she was Counselor in the Political Department of the German Embassy in the USA between 1989 and 1994 , she became Deputy Head of the Berlin Office of the Foreign Office.

In 1999 she was accredited as ambassador to the Dominican Republic . She held this office until she was replaced by Karl A. Köhler , who was previously the ambassador's permanent representative in Sweden . She herself was then consul general in Miami for the first time between 2004 and 2007 and then until 2010 head of the protocol department for state visits and official visits to the Federal Foreign Office.

From 2010 to mid-2013, Eva Alexandra Countess Kendeffy was again Consul General in Miami. The Consulate General's administrative district includes Florida , Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands .
