Eva Siebenherz (born October 11, 1959 in Dresden ) is a German author who became known with her autobiography "Tears from Ice or The Stolen Life" and as the founder of the "Search Pool GDR Citizens".

Author

Eva Siebenherz made her first attempts at writing when she was a child in the GDR , where she also took part in children's and youth literature competitions. She also wrote for youth magazines in the GDR, e.g. B. Drum , FRÖSI , New Life , ABC newspaper or Eulenspiegel . After a long break from writing, she began to write again in the 1990s. Since 1995 she has been working on her autobiography "Tears of Ice", which she completed and published in 2007. It is about her life in conflict with the system of the GDR and the subsequent forced adoption of her children. In the following years she wrote a number of different texts and publications, e.g. B. a children's book, satirical fairy tales or a guide for emigrants. She is currently working on an artist biography and is preparing a novel for 2013 on the subject of missing persons and the consequences of adoption .

Life

Rejected by her parents, she comes into conflict with the law as a young drifter, marries early and has two sons. After her arrest in 1982 and the associated withdrawal of custody , one is forcibly given up for adoption, while the other is initially placed in a children's home and later with the biological father. The contact therefore breaks off completely. After emigrating to West Germany in 1986 and the fall of the Berlin Wall , she began looking for her two sons and their father, which she found in 1995 and 2005 respectively. The reunion remains without a happy ending.

On the basis of her personal experience, Eva Siebenherz founded the "Search Pool GDR Citizens" in 2008 and has been looking for missing people with a team ever since. In 2009 it was renamed "International Personnel Search Pool" and its field of activity expanded accordingly. By mid-2012, almost 1,500 missing people had been found. In 2011 she was the initiator and co-founder of "MissingScout", an international database of missing persons. She also runs a number of websites with information on people search and adoption.
