Eva Voraberger (born February 7, 1990 in Graz ) is an Austrian professional boxer and current interim world champion of the WBC in bantamweight . In 2014 she became Austria's first female boxing world champion.

Career

Eva Voraberger began her career at Fight Club Graz under coach Thomas Hengstberger and later moved to the Vienna boxing team Vienna . Your trainer was Peter Pospichal. Since 2020 she has been trained by the Austrian national trainer Daniel Nader at the Bounce boxing club in Vienna .

She made her professional debut on July 20, 2008 in Karlsruhe . After 17 fights with 15 wins, she won the WIBF European flyweight championship on May 4, 2013 against the Bulgarian Polina Pencheva, but lost the title in the first defense to the German Raja Amasheh . She won the title back in December 2013 against the Serbian Dendi Fleis and was also Intercontinental Champion.

On June 21, 2014, she defeated the Thai Sriwilai Marasri unanimously on points and won the WIBF and WBF world championships in super flyweight, making her the first Austrian boxing world champion. In November 2014, she successfully defended her title against the Hungarian Renata Domsodi. In a title unification fight in May 2015 Voraberger lost just on points against the undefeated Serbian GBU title holder Nina Radovanović.

On September 26, 2015 she won early against the Thai Teeraporn Pannimit and thus became world champion of the GBU, IBO and WIBF super flyweight associations. Although she lost this title in April 2016 by narrowly defeating the Mexican Esmeralda Moreno, she won it back on October 22, 2016 against the American Eileen Olszewski. In July 2017 she defeated the undefeated Hungarian Alexandra Lakatos in the fight for the WBC Silver title.

On April 7, 2018, she won the WBC interim world championship in bantamweight with a narrow points win against Nina Radovanović, to whom she had lost in 2015. This made her the first female boxer in Austria to be champion of two weight classes at the same time. Also, no male boxer from Austria succeeded in this before.

On October 20, 2018, she unanimously defended the title against the Colombian Luna del Mar Torroba. In December 2018 it was announced that Voraberger will box for the vacant WBO world championship in super flyweight on January 18, 2019 in Madison Square Garden in New York City . However, she lost this fight to Amanda Serrano from Puerto Rico by knockout in the first round.
