The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of Höchheim is a village church . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Höchheim and is registered together with the churchyard wall under the number D-6-73-134-1 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Höchheim is part of the parish Höchheim - Irmelshausen - Rothausen in the deanery Bad Neustadt an der Saale .

history

The Reformation is likely to have been introduced in Höchheim - as in Irmelshausen - by the Lords of Bibra around 1540 . The church was built in 1714. At least one earlier church building can be assumed.

description

The nave with a trough-shaped ceiling has three window axes . The eastern choir tower has rectangular sound windows and an onion dome with a lantern. The choir in the basement of the church tower has three windows and a barrel vault . The windows of the church are segmental arches.

Furnishing

On the altar , which was created around 1750, there is a crucifixion group . To the left of the choir arch is the pulpit , which was built during the construction period, on a rotated column, to the right of it on the southern nave wall, the master gallery . The gallery for the people extends along the western and northern walls of the nave. The organ stands on it . The baptismal font bears the year 1586. The church contains a grave monument for Friedrich Caspar von Bibra († 1753). The ceiling of the nave is stuccoed.
