Evangelical Church (Heven)
The Protestant church in Heven , a district of Witten ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), was built between 1900 and 1901 and is a listed building . It is used by the evangelical Trinitatis community.
architecture
The church was built in quarry stone based on a design by the architect Gerhard August Fischer, who is experienced in church building. It has the design of a neo-Gothic stepped hall , the extensions look like a transept . The tower is on the entrance side, the choir has a 5/8 end. The walls are structured using ashlar elements such as corner blocks and door and window frames. The ribbed vault in the interior rests on round pillars .
Most of the furnishings date from the construction period and were partly made according to Fischer's designs.
Bells
After losing their bells twice in both world wars, the church received three cast steel bells from the Bochum Association in 1948 , tuned to c sharp ', e' and f sharp '. As the movement of the bells soon caused severe cracks in the masonry, they were removed in 1987 and replaced by six smaller bronze bells from the Rincker bell foundry . They are the bell of justice (g '), the bell of mercy (h'), the bell of peace (d "), the prayer bell (e"), the resurrection bell (fis ") and the sacrament bell (g").
