Evangelical Church in Bad Holzhausen

The Evangelical Church Bad Holzhausen is a Lutheran church in Bad Holzhausen , a district of Preußisch Oldendorf in the district of Minden-Lübbecke , North Rhine-Westphalia . Structurally, the church belongs to the Lübbecke parish of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . The municipal area extends over 13.9 km² and includes 2,279 parishioners.

history

The church was built in the first half of the 13th century in the Romanesque - Gothic style as a parish church for the Holzhausen and Heddinghausen farmers. The central nave was originally a three- bay rectangular hall .

The Reformation was introduced in Bad Holzhausen in the 16th century .

In 1905/06 the church was redesigned and expanded in neo-Romanesque style according to plans by Karl Siebold , with the core of the nave of the old church being retained as the new central nave. At the end of the work, the new church tower was built in 1906.

Furnishing

Inside the church one depends Epitaph in the Renaissance style. It was created in 1598 for Johann von Korte , who lived on the Hudenbeck manor .

The baroque pulpit was erected in 1665.

The altar and the font were designed by Eva Limberg in 1966. The furnishings and the painting were changed several times in the 20th century.

Bells

A steel bell hangs in the church tower that was cast by the Bochum Association in 1922 . The inscriptions on the bells read:

  • Big bell: Blessed are those who hear God's word and keep it
  • Middle bell: stop in prayer
  • Little Bell: Patiently in Tribulation
