Church district Lübbecke
The Evangelical Church District Lübbecke is one of 27 church districts within the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . It goes back to the Rahden diocese founded in 1818 with its seat in Rahden . The city of Lübbecke has been the official seat since 1832 .
Administrative division
The church district Lübbecke comprises 62,525 believers (as of June 2016) and is divided into 19 parishes, which are in turn grouped into church regions. A region has between two and four parishes:
- Espelkamp region: 1. Martinsgemeinde Espelkamp, 2. Parish Isenstedt-Frotheim
- Region Hüllhorst: parishes 1. Oberbauerschaft, 2. Hüllhorst, 3. Schnathorst-Tengern
- Region Lübbecke: parishes 1. Lübbecke , 2. Gehlenbeck, 3. Blasheim, 4. Nettelstedt
- Preußisch Oldendorf region: parishes 1. Alswede, 2. Bad Holzhausen, 3. Börninghausen, 4. Preußisch Oldendorf
- Rahden region: Parishes 1. Rahden, 2. Prussian Ströhen
- Region Stemwede: parishes 1. Dielingen, 2. Levern, 3. Oppenwehe, 4. Wehdem
Larger parishes are in turn subdivided into parish districts. Lübbecke consists of the Andreas district (with the St. Andreas Church ), the Thomas district and the Matthäus district (or Eastern district). There are also other pastoral positions: superintendent , youth pastor, hospital chaplain, Ev. Religious teacher at the vocational college and Ev. Religious teacher at the grammar school. In addition, pastors with special assignments work in the church district. Uwe Gryczan has been the superintendent since 2016.
Together with the other East Westphalian church districts of Herford , Minden and Vlotho , the Lübbecke church district is merged in a church district association. From this association, among other things, the regional telephone counseling and the Ev. Adult education .
Apart from minor deviations, the area of the church district coincides with that of the old district of Lübbecke . The church district has a size of 569.43 km² and is therefore slightly larger than the 564.8 km² old district of Lübbecke. This is explained by the fact that two Lower Saxony areas are parish in parishes of the parish of Lübbecke: The village of Büscherheide is parish after Börninghausen and the parish of Stemshorn belongs to the parish of Dielingen .
