Dellwig Church
The Protestant church is a listed church building on Strickherdicker Weg 1 in Dellwig , a district of Fröndenberg in the Unna district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The formerly dedicated to St. Laurentius consecrated Church is at the elevated church square. It is bordered by a ring of houses in the north and east. The west and south sides sloping steeply to the Ruhr valley are secured by quarry stone walls with buttresses .
The Romanesque west tower is older than the nave , which is barely wider ; a high pointed helmet was added to it in 1727 . The two west bays and the north portal with inserted columns and bas-relief decoration are probably from the end of the 12th century. The east yoke, the end of the choir , the tracery windows and the north sacristy are probably from the 14th century. The northern sacristy was enlarged in 1980. The three-bay, plastered hall with a 3/6 end was extended in a cross shape in 1872 by cross-arms made of quarry stone on the central bay. Inside, rib vaults rest on beveled wall templates and consoles. They are labeled 1510 in a lost inscription. There are galleries in the cross arms .
Furnishing
- A wooden crucifix is from the end of the 15th century, the arms and the frame are new.

- In 1999 the five new bronze bells from the Rincker bell foundry rang for the first time. They are tuned to e ', a', h ', c sharp "and e". The wooden belfry comes from the Baroque period.
