The Evangelical Church in Elbenrod , a district of Alsfeld in the Vogelsbergkreis in Central Hesse , was built in the 12th century. The church with the address An der Leit 1 is a protected monument .

description

The village church, the nave of which dates from the 12th century, is located in the walled churchyard . The walls are plastered, the windows of the north side are sandstone jambs provided. On the south side there are high windows, which were equipped with leaded glass windows by the Münch stained glass factory in Groß-Umstadt in 1964 . The ship is powered by a steep gable roof covered on which a ridge turret with hood sits.

The apse of the Romanesque building was canceled in 1715 and by a choir in framework construction replaced. The pillars of the original triumphal arch have been preserved up to the height of the fighter . The interior is characterized by encircling galleries with coffered parapets . The ceiling rests on a girder supported by a beveled pillar.

A second-hand organ was acquired from Obbornhofen in 1843 and replaced in 1907 for 1940 marks by a new work from Förster & Nicolaus Orgelbau . The single-manual instrument has six registers .
