Evangelical Church Frankenhausen (Mühltal)
The Evangelical Church Frankenhausen is a church in Frankenhausen in the southern Hessian Odenwald community of Mühltal .
Architecture and history
The small chapel was built in the years 1708–1710 on the eastern slope of the village of Frankenhausen as a hall building with a 3/8 end.
A square roof turret with a pointed eight-sided bent hood rises above the gable of the chapel . The hood is crowned by a wrought iron cross . Rectangular window openings with flat arches and simple sandstone walls are embedded in the quarry stone walls .
Inside the chapel has a flat wooden beam ceiling . There are wooden galleries on two sides, with a small baroque organ on the back . The year 1709 is carved into the wooden door frame of the chapel.
Because of its architectural and historical importance, the small church of Frankenhausen is a cultural monument .
The Evangelical Parish of Frankenhausen, which is parishly connected to the neighboring parish of Nieder-Beerbach , belongs to the Darmstadt-Land Dean's Office of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau .
