history

Reichenbach belonged to the Bensheim parish until 1430, when a separate village was formed from the villages of Elmshausen (Lautertal) , Hanrod, Grauelbach, Lautern (Lautertal) , Hohenstein, Gadernheim , Raidelbach , Breitenwiesen and Knoden . In 1556 the Reformation was carried out by Elector Ottheinrich . From a chapel, which stood on the site of today's church around 1430, a small church developed through extensions. Today's baroque church , built around 1748 with the support of the Counts of Erbach , was completely renovated in 1999 and 2000.
