The Evangelical Church in Stumpertenrod , a district of Feldatal in the Vogelsbergkreis in Hesse , was completed in 1712. The church is a protected architectural monument .

History and architecture

The construction of the half-timbered church began in 1696/97 according to plans by Johann Ernst Müller and was not completed until 1712. The high hall has a three-sided, shingled choir closure . A hexagonal roof turret with a hood , which is crowned by a weather vane, sits above the entrance gable . The room is covered by a flat wooden barrel with cross ribs. The three-sided gallery has parapet paintings depicting the apostles and Martin Luther . The pulpit is labeled 1617. The organ was installed in 1841. The bell from 1470 comes from a previous church.
