Evangelical Hospital Bergisch Gladbach
The Evangelical Hospital Bergisch Gladbach gGmbH is a general hospital with 409 beds in non-profit sponsorship in the district town of Bergisch Gladbach, east of Cologne in the Bergisches Land . Every year 15,000 patients are cared for as inpatients. The EVK has been a member of the German Network of Health Promoting Hospitals since 2000 . eV of the World Health Organization (WHO).
history
As a welfare house of the Evangelical community Bergisch Gladbach founded in 1928, it was with the permission of the Cologne Regional Council on 16 April 1929 the hospital and nursing home . On January 1, 1970, the house was spun off from the Protestant community and converted into a GmbH. Since 2010, it has been part of the Evangelische Kliniken Rheinland gGmbH holding company with the Evangelical Hospital Cologne-Weyertal .

The medical staff of the specialist department are involved in the emergency medical care of the Rheinisch-Bergischen-Kreis, provide the medical director for the rescue service and the medical director of the EVK emergency medical center.
Academic teaching and training
The EVK has been an academic teaching hospital of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn since 1982 . The Clinic for General Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics cooperates with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Witten / Herdecke. Training is given in nursing as well as in commercial, technical and domestic areas.
