Evanna Lynch
Evanna Patricia Lynch (born August 16, 1991 in Termonfeckin , County Louth , Ireland ) is an Irish actress , model and vegan activist. She is best known for her role as Luna Lovegood in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter novels.
life and career
Lynch, who was a big fan of the Harry Potter novels from the start, wrote a letter to Joanne K. Rowling at the age of 11 , in which she thanked and wrote how much she loved the books and especially the role of Luna Lovegood helped and distracted from her eating disorder . Rowling answered her and a pen pal developed.
Regardless, Lynch, who had never taken acting lessons before, took part in an open casting in London for the role of Luna in 2006 , and prevailed against 15,000 other girls. In 2007 she made her cinema debut in the film adaptation of the fifth book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix . Joanne K. Rowling said that Lynch was "perfect" for the role of Luna.
For her portrayal in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince , she won a Scream Award in the category “Best Supporting Actress” in 2009 and was nominated for a Young Artist Award .
Lynch attended Cartown National School , a public elementary school in Termonfeckin , through June 2004 . Then she went to Our Lady's College , a Catholic girls' school in Drogheda , County Louth .
In 2008, she studied drama at the Center for the Talented Youth of Ireland , a summer school in Glasnevin , Dublin. While filming Harry Potter , she received at least three hours of one-to-one lessons per day. From September 2010, Lynch attended the Institute of Education in Dublin to repeat her Irish Leaving Certificate .
After filming Harry Potter , she moved from London to Los Angeles , where she worked as an actress and yoga teacher. In November 2016 she moved back to London and played there a. a. in the play Disco Pigs .
She had been with the English actor Robbie Jarvis since 2007 , but both of them only announced this publicly in April 2015. The couple split in 2016.
At the age of 11, Lynch became a vegetarian . Lynch has been a vegan since 2015 and launched a podcast called The ChickPeeps on the subject of veganism in November 2017, among others with Robbie Jarvis . In 2016, she gave a speech on veganism at an award ceremony.
