features

The moths reach a wingspan of about 25 millimeters. The head is white on the back and sides. The neck collar is brown. The thorax is colored white and mottled gray and ocher. The abdomen is whitish ocher. The antennae are black. The labial palps are short and point upwards, the last segment points forwards and is directed upwards. They are banded in brown and white. The maxillary palps are very long and white. The shiny brown forewings are elongated and very narrow at the base. The costal edge is straight, the outer edge of the wing is curved in the middle. The inner edge of the wing is white at the base. The very oblique transverse lines are black and thin and approach each other towards the inner edge of the wing. The inner transverse line is curved and only weakly developed on the Costa loader . It hits the wing inner edge at an angle. The outer transverse line is strongly wavy and serrated. At first it runs almost parallel to the inner transverse line and touches it on the inner edge of the wing. It is wider and triple notched on the Costa loader. In the subterminal field there is a lead-gray band with a weak white border on both sides. The discal spot is black and kidney-shaped, with a small, indistinct spot next to it. A black line and a series of black spots run along the outer edge of the wing. The fringed scales are evenly colored and drawn with three blackish lines of which the basal is the widest. The hind wings are brownish gray and tinted purple. They are darkened blackish on the outer edge near the Costa loader and drawn with a blackish center line. The underside of the forewing is brownish and paler at the wing edges. The outer transverse line is indicated in black, followed by a broad, blackish, transverse shadow. The hind wing underside resembles the upper side but is paler.
