Everhard Bungartz
Everhard Bungartz (born December 5, 1900 in Cologne , † January 19, 1984 in Munich ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).
Life and work
Bungartz had a doctorate in physics and initially worked for IG Farben . In 1934, with the capital of his father-in-law Hugo Asbach, he founded the company Bungartz and Co., which manufactured automobiles and trailers under the type designation Bungartz Butz in Munich . In 1935, when his chief engineer Josef Ganz had fled to Liechtenstein the year before because of the persecution of the Jews , he switched the production of motor vehicles to tilling machines. After Siemens milling machines were initially built under license, own models and tillers were developed from 1937 onwards. After the Second World War , single-axle tractors and tractors were also manufactured. From 1946 to 1949, in addition to his professional activity, Bungartz was also President of the Association of Bavarian Mechanical Engineering Institutions . In 1965, Bungartz sold a large part of its factory equipment to Boge GmbH and took part in a company with the construction machinery manufacturer Karl Peschke from Zweibrücken , with whom he built a new tractor factory in Hornbach in Rhineland-Palatinate under the company Bungartz & Peschke . This was sold in 1974 to the competitor Gutbrod .

Bungartz sat for the Free Democratic Party, first in 1945 on the state council of the American zone of occupation, and then from 1947 to 1949 on the economic council of the bizone . From 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
