Ewald Gossy

Ewald Gossy (born June 9, 1959 in Oberwart ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1999 to 2010 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Gossy was born as the son of excavator operator Franz Gossy from Hannersdorf and attended elementary school and secondary school in Oberwart. He then learned the trade of toolmaker at the Pinkafeld and Neunkirchen vocational schools . He did military service in 1979 and became sergeant in the reserve. Since July 1, 1989, he has been an employee of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions and was most recently employed as regional secretary. Since 1994 he has also been chairman of the association “Labor and Employment Offensive Südburgenland”. Gossy lives in Oberwart.

politics

From March 18, 1999, Gossy represented the SPÖ in the state parliament. He was a member of the Legal Committee, the Immunity and Incompatibility Committee, the Finance, Budget and Budget Committee and the Committee on European Integration and Cross-Border Cooperation. He also held the position of SPÖ area spokesman for labor market policy and commuters. After Gossy lost the SPÖ-internal preferential vote duel to Kurt Maczek in the state elections in Burgenland 2010 , he left the state parliament on June 24, 2010.
