Ewald Joachim von Eichmann (born September 20, 1653 in Kolberg , Western Pomerania ; † May 4, 1714 ) was a German legal scholar and local politician.

Eichmann studied law at the University of Frankfurt an der Oder and was awarded a doctorate there in 1689 under Stryk with an inaugural dissertation on conditional law. jur. PhD. He later became councilor in Kolberg and worked as an advocate for the Pomeranian court. He was district administrator and from 1690 until his death in 1714 mayor of Kolberg. Because of his services he was on the occasion of the royal coronation of Frederick III. raised to hereditary nobility on January 18, 1701. In 1704, 1707 and 1712 he bought the three shares in the Neurese estate in the Principality of Fürstenthum and thus became the owner of the whole of Neurese.

The progenitor of the noble family Eichmann from behind Pomerania had four sons; his son Matthias Friedrich († 1760) became Prussian War and Domain Councilor, his son Emanuel Ernst († 1773), Prussian War and Tax Council, and his son Martin Ludwig († 1792) Prussian lieutenant general . Due to the similarity of names, the fourth son E (o) wald Joachim was often confused with his father in the representation of the family line and not listed. So he is missing z. B. in the Gothaischen Taschenbuch der Briefadeligen houses, fifth year, 1911, and following. That he still belongs to the family is evident from his inaugural dissertation "De Festinatione Iudicis Illicita", in which he mentions his grandfather and father by name.
