Ewald Lindinger

Ewald Lindinger (born August 16, 1956 in Micheldorf in Upper Austria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and ÖBB official at rest. Lindinger was a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament , a member of the Federal Council until February 2019 and mayor of Micheldorf from 1991 to 2018 . He is divorced and has three children.

education

After attending primary school in Waldhausen im Strudengau from 1962 to 1966, secondary school in Strobl am Wolfgangsee and Kirchdorf an der Krems from 1966 to 1970 and the polytechnic course from 1970 to 1971, Lindinger completed an apprenticeship from 1971 to 1974 to the dispatcher at the ÖBB . In 1977 he was employed at the Hinterstoder station with the title of Federal Railroad Assistant (salary group IVb) and at least from 1980 to 1984 at the Micheldorf station with the title of Federal Railroad Adjunct (salary group Vb). Lindinger worked in this profession until 2007.

Career

From 1973 to 1980 Lindinger was the local chairman of the Austrian youth trade union , from 1974 to 1985 its district chairman. From 1972 to 1975 he was youth trust council at the ÖBB, from 1976 to 1986 local chairman of the young generation.

From 1997 to 2003 he was a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament and from 1979 to 1991 a local councilor in the market town of Micheldorf. From October 1991 to January 2018 Lindinger held the office of mayor in Micheldorf, since 1992 he has been district chairman of the SPÖ Kirchdorf an der Krems. Lindinger was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from October 23, 2003 to January 31, 2007 , between 2004 and 2007 a substitute member of the Austrian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and on February 1, 2007, he replaced Reinhard Winterauer as Member of Parliament Upper Austrian Parliament.

After the state elections in Upper Austria in 2009 , Lindinger was re-elected to the Federal Council, meaning that he again represented the SPÖ in the Federal Council from October 23, 2009 and was Vice President of the Federal Council in 2018 . In April 2018 Horst Hufnagl (SPÖ) was elected as his successor as Mayor of Micheldorf. Bettina Lancaster succeeded him as a member of the Federal Council in February 2019 .
