Exiled on Earth is an Italian progressive , thrash and power metal band from Rome that was founded in 2001.
history
The band was formed in 2001 from the decay remnants of the Maelstrom group. In 2002 a first demo was recorded under the name Duality Conflicts . After various live performances, a second demo followed in 2005 with the name Seizure of Rationality . This was named "Top Demo" in Metal Shock magazine . After that, the group worked on more songs. At the end of 2007 the guitarist Alessandro Croce left the line-up, whereupon he was replaced by Leonardo Noschese. In the meantime, the debut album The Orwell Legacy was recorded. At the end of 2008 the band signed a record deal with the US label Zero Substance Records . The album was released about it the following year. In 2016, the second album Forces of Denial followed via Punishment 18 Records .
style
Brother Cle from Rock Hard wrote about Duality Conflicts that the demo is suitable for fans of Watchtower , Sieges Even and Mekong Delta . In the songs there are “big breaks and tempo changes, lightning- fast solos and complicated riffs ” that alternate with rhythmic passages. The high vocals of Marcozzi thrones above everything. The latter cannot quite compete with Alan Tecchio yet , but he tries his hand at melodic vocal arcs. All in all, the songs are extremely progressive hard metal on the border with thrash metal. Julius Svensson from metal-observer.com noted in his review of Forces of Denial that the band - similar to Vektor - continues where groups like Voivod , Watchtower, Mekong Delta, Megace , Toxik , Sieges Even at the time of their debut album, Brothers Grimm, Lost Century , Donor , Fates Warning and Queensrÿche would have stopped. He also named Coroner , Helstar , Forbidden and Vendetta as further reference groups .
