Exmouth (Devon)

Exmouth is a seaside resort in south-west England , in the county of Devon, at the mouth of the River Exe . It had 32,792 inhabitants in 2001 and belongs to the East Devon district .

Due to the proximity to the Gulf Stream, there are water temperatures of up to 25 ° C in summer, as well as subtropical vegetation and a mild climate. Not far away and easy to get to by train is Devon's capital Exeter with the high Gothic cathedral and the 14th century astronomical clock. Nearby are Plymouth , Dartmoor National Park , Torbay and Weymouth .
A stretch of coastline stretches from Orcombe Point near Exmouth in the west to the Isle of Purbeck in the east, which was the first natural landscape in England to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO . Chapman's Pool is part of the Jurassic Coast ; it is one of the natural wonders of the world and is known for its fossils .
