Eyal Sivan

Eyal Sivan (born September 9, 1964 in Haifa , Israel ) is an Israeli filmmaker , director and critic of various effects of his country's politics.

Life

Sivan went to school in Jerusalem , but he never graduated. He started taking photos and found work as a fashion photographer in Tel Aviv . In 1985 he left his home country and went to Paris , where he found a more tolerant environment for his views. He is a declared anti-Zionist and calls for civil disobedience in Israel. When Alain Finkielkraut described him as a " Jewish anti-Semite " in 2006 , he sued him for insult.

Semi-documentary film about the Ministry for State Security of the GDR and its dissolution during the time of the fall of the Wall, based on fictitious diary entries of a Stasi officer, looking back reflexively after the fall of the Wall, which are read off-screen. The image material consists of original training and observation material from the State Security, television recordings of the time of the fall of the Wall and recordings made today of former Stasi facilities.
