Ezekiel Alebua

Ezekiel Alebua (* 1947 ) was Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands from December 1, 1986 to December 1, 1989 .

Alebua was his country's foreign minister from 1981 to 1982. From 1998 to 2003 he was governor of the province of Guadalcanal . Some people resented him for not supporting the provincial independence movement. He was injured in an assassination attempt on June 1, 2001. During his time in national politics, he was a member of the Solomon Islands United Party .
