Sir Allan Kemakeza KBE (born October 11, 1950 ) was Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands from 2001 to 2006 . His People's Alliance Party won 20 of 49 seats in the general election on December 5, 2001, making it the strongest party. He was elected by parliament on December 17, 2001 with 29 votes out of 50 and sworn in on December 19. After his party lost votes in the parliamentary elections on April 5, 2006, Kemakeza announced his resignation. His deputy Snyder Rini was elected as his successor .
