Fábio César Montezine ( Arabic فابيو سيزار مونتيزإني; * February 24, 1979 in Londrina ) is a former Qatari soccer player of Brazilian origin. He plays in the position of midfielder .
Player career
Fábio César started his professional career in 1999 in Brazil with FC São Paulo , for which he played one season and then moved to Viktoria Pilsen in the Czech Republic . He spent three years in Italy at SSC Napoli and another year at US Avellino before turning his back on Europe and signing a contract with the Qatari club Al-Arabi in the Qatar Stars League in 2005 . But here too the Brazilian only stayed a year and went to Umm-Salal Sport Club . In 2008 he won his first title with Umm-Salal and took the Emir of Qatar Cup with a win on penalties against Al-Gharafa . During the 2009/10 season, Montezine moved to Al-Rayyan Sports Club within the Qatar Stars League . In the summer of 2013 he returned to Umm-Salal, only to return to Al-Rayyan in early 2016, where he also ended his career in the summer of 2016.
National team
In 2008 he was eligible to play for the Qatari national soccer team and made his debut there a short time later. In qualifying for the 2010 World Cup , Montezine made eleven appearances for Qatar and scored two goals.
