Fænø is a 394 ha large Danish island in the Strait Snævringen the little Beltes , southwest of the city Middelfart located. It is permanently inhabited by 1 residents (January 1, 2020). Fænø belongs to the parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) Middelfart Sogn , which belonged to Harde Vends Herred in the former Odense office until 1970 , then to the Middelfart municipality in the former Fyns office , which became part of the "new" Middelfart with the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 Municipality in the region of Syddanmark has risen.

The dagger from Hindsgavl ( Danish Hindsgavldolken ) was found about 1867 on the property Hindsgavl on Fænø.
