It belonged to the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier and the canton of Moirans-en-Montagne . Fétigny is a district of the municipality of Valzin en Petite Montagne .

On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Fétigny was merged with Chatonnay , Légna and Savigna to form the new municipality of Valzin en Petite Montagne.
