Feel free is a song by the German rapper Sido . The piece is part of Sido's fifth solo album 30-11-80 .
Creation and publication
The song was written jointly by Mark Cwiertnia (Mark Forster), the FNSHRS production team. (consisting of: Paul NZA , Marek Pompetzki and Cecil Remmler ) and Paul Würdig (Sido). The piece was produced by the producer trio. The song was published under the music labels Urban (sub-label of Universal ) and Vertigo / Capitol and distributed by Goldzweig Berlin , Hilaster Bavilario Music, Numarek Songs Marek Pompetzki, NZA Paul Neumann Edition , Sony / ATV Music Publishing , Twelve Music Cecil Remmler Edition . The recordings were made in the Black Rock Studios in Santorini ( Greece ).
The first release of Feel free was done as part of the fifth solo album Sidos 30-11-80 November 29, 2013. The song was never released as an official single, but gained as part of the soundtrack of the German film comedy Not my day of notoriety. The film was released in theaters on January 16, the soundtrack was released a week later on January 24, 2014.
background information
Sido described how the collaboration with Mark Foster came about in an interview with N24 with the following words: “About two years ago I drove around a lot with my wife and we always heard this song from him in the car, On the Road . Somehow he described our life situation back then. I think the guy is so underrated, he could or should have a lot more success, because he's really crazy. It quickly became clear to me that I wanted to feature him on my album . ”As a result, Forster not only co-wrote Fühl dich frei on Sido's album. The two also took the duets Somewhere someone and one of these stones is waiting together. The latter was released as a single and celebrated top 10 successes and was awarded a gold record in Germany. In 2014 Sido reciprocated and took part as a guest musician in Forster's single Au revoir , with which the two again achieved top 10 successes and record awards.

Sido can be seen on the roof of a house, in a field or in a forest. The total length of the video is 3:33 minutes. Directed by Christian Pfeil, the video was produced by Epicman Production. To date, the music video has over 12.8 million views on YouTube (as of August 2017).

Ralf Theil from Juice-Magazin rated the album 30-11-80 with four out of six crowns, whereby Fühl dich frei does not get off well. Thiel describes the piece as “an accumulation of well-meaning coaching phrases that has become a synth pop ”.

At Feel free is not an official single release, the song reached only due to high single downloads in the first week of 30-11-80 the charts. Furthermore, in the first week of sales from 30-11-80 and after the appearance of Not My Day for a few days , the piece was placed in the daily evaluations of the German iTunes charts, with the piece reaching position 71 on November 29, 2013 reached.
For Sido as author and performer, this is the 34th chart success in Germany, including the chart success of his collaboration projects. For NZA, Fühl dich frei is the 28th chart success in the German single charts in his role as author or producer.
