Fünisch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fünisch is the name of the dialects that are spoken on Fyn and the surrounding Danish islands (Danish South Seas) . Together with the dialects on Zealand and Lolland - Falster , it belongs to the branch of island Danish. A general distinction is made between West and East Fyn, a more precise classification is as follows:

  • East Funen [østfynsk]
  • West Funen [vestfynsk (nordvest-, sydvestfynsk)]
  • South Funen [sydfynsk]

In contrast to Imperial Danish , there are three genders in island Danish and thus also in Fünischen.
