F1 2019 Anniversary Edition (German: Jubiläumsedition) is a racing game developed by Codemasters . It is the eleventh game in the series and the successor to F1 2018 and was released on June 28, 2019 for PlayStation 4 , Xbox One and Windows and is based on the 2019 Formula 1 season . The game was announced by Codemasters on March 28, 2019. All 21 racetracks, 20 drivers and ten teams of the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship are included in the game. Codemasters stated that the game was in development for nearly two years, calling it "the most ambitious release in franchise history."

Innovations

The biggest innovation is the introduction of Formula 2 with the full license for the 2018 season . Codemasters revealed this innovation with a small sequence in the trailer. The 2019 season was to be submitted later as a free patch later in the year. Formula 2 functions as an optional introduction to career mode, but can also be played separately from it. In the career, the game includes two fictional drivers, Lukas Weber and Devon Butler, who act as potential competitors for the player and advance to Formula 1 alongside the player.

In career mode, you can now also simulate the training programs that are necessary to receive research points, but only half of the points are then awarded.

F1 2019 is the first game in the series in which driver transfers of the AI drivers are possible. AI-controlled drivers can change teams during or at the end of a championship year. These changes are generated randomly.

In addition to the classic Formula 1 cars from previous seasons already included in the predecessor, the vehicles from the 1990 season by Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna will be added. What is new here is that both drivers can be played as a 3D model and special challenges can be completed with them. Both drivers and vehicles are included in the Legends Edition or can also be purchased as paid DLC .
