The FAAC Group , based in Zola Predosa near Bologna , is a global Italian mechanical engineering company. The company develops, manufactures and sells automatic drives and controls for swing gates, sliding gates , courtyard - and garage doors , barriers , bollards systems , parking systems and roller shutters and sun protection systems .

F abbrica A utomatismi A pertura C ancelli, founded in Bologna in 1965, is today a large multinational group with more than 2,200 employees on five continents, with 18 production plants, 32 sales offices in 24 countries and an official dealer network in over 80 countries. In 2014 FAAC achieved a turnover of 331 million euros.

The company founder Giuseppe Manini was followed by his son Michelangelo, who expanded the company into a multinational group. When Michelangelo Manini died in 2012 after a long illness at the age of only 50, he bequeathed his entire legacy, estimated at 1.7 billion euros, to the Curia of Bologna .
