The FC Oeding (officially football club Oeding 1925 e. V. is) a sports club from Südlohn in the district of Borken . The first women's soccer team played for three years in the Regionalliga West .

history

The association was founded in 1925. In addition to football, the club also offers badminton , parent-child gymnastics, women's fitness and table tennis . The home ground of the football department is the Grenzlandstadion .

The women's football department has existed since 1981. Five years later, the team rose to the district league, before promotion to the state league was achieved in 1996. Two years later, the Oedingen women reached the Westphalia Association . In 1999 the team reached the final of the Westphalia Cup . In front of 400 spectators, FC Oeding lost 3-2 on their own pitch to SG Wattenscheid 09 and narrowly missed qualifying for the DFB Cup . A year later, the Oedingen were Westphalian champions and were promoted to the Regionalliga West.

After an eighth place in the promotion season it went in the following season 2001/02 as a knocked-down bottom of the table back down in the association league. Three years later, he was promoted again to the regional league, which was followed by direct relegation after just one year . In the following years the team in the Association or Westphalia League did not get beyond mediocrity and had to relegate to the state league in 2014. At the end of the next season, the team rose again from the district league.

The first men's team competes in the district league A. Between 1996 and 2001 the team played in the national league .
