The FC Phönix Bellheim 1921 is a German football club from the local community Bellheim in the district of Germersheim in Rhineland-Palatinate and belongs to the regional association Southwest . Home of the club is the Franz-Hage-Stadion on Zeiskamer Straße, named after the honorary chairman.
history
The founding meeting of FC Phönix took place on February 11, 1921 in the “Zur Reichskrone” inn, where the board elections were also held three days later. The club colors were set to be black and red. Until the end of the Second World War - in 1942 the game traffic was stopped - the club belonged to the district class.
Bellheim's most successful period in sport began when, after the French occupying forces approved the resumption of gaming on September 9, 1945, the ball started rolling again. In the 1946/47 round, Phönix was promoted to the state league and on December 7, 1947, brewery director Franz Hage was elected as the new chairman of the general assembly. The next promotion followed in the 1951/52 season, where FC Phoenix was able to celebrate admission to the single-track 1st Amateur League Southwest for the 1952/53 round and immediately won the cup but failed for the first time in the promotion round to the 2nd Southwest Division. On April 8, 1956, Bellheim was under the direction of the southwest German association coach Georg Gawliczek with a 2-1 victory in Alzey against SC 07 Bad Neuenahr amateur cup champion of Rhineland-Palatinate, but failed again in the promotion round to the II. Division. From the 1957/58 season, the former Oberliga Süd player from VfB Mühlburg , Lothar Bechtel , took over the sporting management of FC Phönix Bellheim as player-coach. In the 1961/62 round, the championship in the 1st Amateur League Southwest was won in front of ASV Landau and FSV Oggersheim and the promotion to the II. Division was celebrated. In the games for the German championship of the amateurs , Bellheim failed after a 0-1 defeat in Berlin at the eventual final winner SC Tegel .
For the games in the contract players' camp in 1962/63, twelve players were signed. Her compensation was DM 50 per month. The prize money was set at DM 20.-. Bellheim took fourth place and qualified in the group matches for the new Southwest regional football league from the 1963/64 season. In the second division, the village club was able to hold its own for four rounds and had to return to the amateur camp after the 1966/67 season . In 1969 Phönix took part again in the games for the German amateur championship and the club leader Franz Hage, who had been in office for 22 years, was appointed honorary chairman at the general assembly on July 28th. By winning the championship in 1970/71 in the 1st Amateur League Southwest in front of VfR Kaiserslautern, Phoenix Bellheim returned two more rounds to the Regionalliga Southwest, from which they had to relegate in 1973 . The way went down in the leagues in the next few years - interrupted by membership of the association league from 1985 to 1992 - and today (as of the 2019/20 season) Phönix Bellheim plays its association games in the southern Palatinate district in the A-class southern Palatinate.
