TTM Samut Sakhon is a professional football club from Phichit , who in 1963 founded. The club plays in the Thai Premier League , the highest league in the country. The club plays its home games in the Phichit Stadium.

Club history

The club was founded in 1963 as Thailand Tobacco Monopoly FC. The club is a Werkself of the state tobacco company Thailand Tobacco Monopoly. 1996/97 the club took part in the premier season of the Thai Premier League , but could not hold the league. It was not until 2000 that the club managed to return to the first division. After that, Yasoob , under this name the club is also known in Thailand, took eighth place in the table three times in a row. At the end of the 2004/05 season , the club won the first championship as a complete surprise. Winning the championship entitles the club to participate in the AFC Champions League . Tobacco Monopoly was however excluded from the competition by the AFC . There is no verifiable reason for this. However, it is possible that the necessary papers were only submitted after the registration deadline or not at all. A 4th and 8th place was followed by a disappointing 12th place in the 2008 season . You just escaped the descent. In previous years, the club had already struggled to find a real home and frequently changed stadium and location. At the beginning of the 2009 season, the club was based in Samut Sakhon . In order to get a closer connection to the place, the club renamed itself in Thailand Tobacco Monopoly Samut Sakhon Football Club. Another reason for the renaming is that clubs of the Premier League have to be a registered company since 2009. The club's season was then also relatively turbulent. First, Attaphol Buspakom was presented as the new trainer. However, he left the club before the start of the season for Muang Thong United. His successor was Kij Meesrisuk, who was released during the break of the season. Prajuk Viengsong became his successor. He last looked after the club from July 2008 to November 2008. At the end of the 2009 season there was at least 8th place. After only one year in Samut Sakhon, TTM moved on again. This time to Phichit. The club was able to establish itself in Samut Sakhon within a very short time. Which is why especially the new fans of the club reacted with little understanding to the departure.
